Several members of the BYU women’s volleyball team received WCC postseason awards on Tuesday, Dec. 2.
Senior outside hitter Alexa Gray was named the Player of the Year for the second-straight year. Gray is first in the conference for both kill average and points per set. She averages 5.59 kills per set and 6.17 points per set.
Amy Boswell, a junior and middle blocker, was named Defensive Player of the Year. Boswell is second in the WCC in blocks and averages 1.41 blocks per set. She is also first in the conference for individual hitting percentage and averages a .358 clip.
Gray and Boswell also made the All-WCC First Team.
Head coach Heather Olmstead received Coach of the Year accolades. This 2015 season has been her first year as head coach and the Cougars ended the season to a 26-3, 16-2 WCC record through her coaching. The Cougars were able to win the WCC Championship by a two-match margin.
Senior libero Ciara Parker and middle blocker Whitney Young Howard made All-WCC Honorable Mention. Outside hitter Veronica Jones made the All-WCC Freshman Team.
